Album Notes

Ladies and gentlemen... boys and girls... children of all ages... step right up! Witness the musical oddity that is “THE KEHOE NATION”! This “Western Gothic” band from San Francisco is the brainchild of leader Bryan Kehoe. For many years “Kehoe” has been electrifying stages across the US and Europe, sangin’ and pickin’ that there gee-tar in groups such as, Jerry Cantrell Band (Alice in Chains), The Les Claypool Frog Brigade (Primus), Ministry, and Nor Cal legends M.I.R.V.

Their self released debut “Music for Livers”, recorded, mixed and mastered by the legendary engineer Oz Fritz (Tom Waits, Bill Laswell, Buckethead), is an entertaining potent cocktail of country, oompah, polka and waltzes, performed with good ol’ punk and metal swagger. By mixing the “ol’ timey” timbres of a stand up bass, clarinet, accordion, and antique orchestral percussions, with “Rawk” guitars and drums, they have created a fresh new soundscape. The combination of master musicianship and raucus stage shows has made them a hometown favorite.

“Kehoe is quickly making an name for himself, performing his technical wizardry on a cranked up Telecaster...the boy ain’t normal!” Guitar Player Magazine

“I have seen The Kehoe Nation, a Bay Area favorite, several times and have never been let down.” Zero Magazine

“The Kehoe Nation forge a sound that is bound to get them noticed, if not notorious. Catch them if you can!”

The sound of this ragtag minstrel group will tickle yer eardrum, tantalize yer tympanum, scintillate yer stereo, vex yer vibrola and definitely set granny off into one of her conniptions.

Yo Busta!

All hail the modern hillbilly messiah
This Kehoe can sure light up a fretboard. I'll say it, I like songs about that demon: alcohol, too. There's plenty of both, hot licks and drunken lyrics. Let's have a drink, let's have a thousands drinks...while listening to "Music For Livers" of course!

Kehoe is just plain Awesome
The Creativity and musicianship was just plain RAD!! Kehoe puts a new spin on to some OLD classics that are just great. Like Asolomio on the M.I.R.V. CD, he makes a great song even greater... Then there are songs like BOOZE! That song has been stuck in my head for like a week now!!! BUY THIS AND LOVE IT

So great. Just want some licks played on the East Coast.
So good. I just can't believe that I had to travel to Tahoe, CA to hear Southern heat of this new caliber. Hope the new CD has the same weird energy and filthy hot licks.

freaking awesome
This is one of those cds that makes you really productivly angry. I was listening to it while driving and got out of a ticket for driving 120mph by telling him I had to get home because I'd been drinking and I didn't want to hurt anyone.

Entertainistaticophically Amusiliciously Groovicality at it's Phallus
Kehoe's got the skills to make thrills and shows it on this incredible CD. After listening to "music for livers"
I slapped my momma for not giving me such rare talent that shines in this Boozilicious CD. My liver now is happy.

Not as silly as it may seem at first
Don't know why they put all the fun songs at the beginning because this album has so much more to offer! This, of course, doesn't mean the fun songs aren't any good, but to fully appreciate them you have to listen to the more "serious" songs first.
So don't be misled - this album is more than a Redneck version of Mr Bungle!

This CD is AWESOME! You won't be disappointed.
