Album Notes
"Pat Metheny-like" - The New York TImes

"A minor (key) masterpiece." - All About Jazz

"You'll be granted passage to some of the loveliest compositions I've ever heard be self-produced by an independent artist. Ganz' halting phrases are like tentative steps into a realm of sanctity." -Minor7th Acoustic Guitar Webzine

About the artist:

Keith Ganz is a guitarist, composer, arranger, and producer. In addition to his Grammy-nominated collaborations with rising jazz star Kate McGarry, he has been the guitarist of choice for Harry Connick Jr., Luciana Souza, Peter Eldridge, Gretchen Parlato and many more acclaimed vocalists. He has also performed and/or recorded with a host of jazz legends including Christian McBride, Fred Hersch, Victor Lewis, Chris Potter, Andy Bey, Billy Drummond, Jay Anderson, and many others. He has performed on Late Night with David Letterman, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Ellen, The View and Australion Idol, and toured in four continents.

Now, with the release of his solo recording "Music for People", Keith reveals another side to his artistry on 8 original compositions, 2 covers and one pure improvisation, all performed on a variety of acoustic guitars. The music could easily be called folk or jazz but regardless, the core of the music is melody, sincerity, and simply gorgeous guitar playing.

Paul Curreri

Finally. Beautiful. So deep.
I once sat privy to a scene: Seated on a couch, tuxedo'd in Cape Cod, his OWN wedding party waiting ten minutes down the road, Keith Ganz shouted "one more chorus!" to his piano buddy across the room. He was surrounded by his true loves that day. FINALLY, along comes Music for People, a slew of different guitars, echoes of a dozen genres, but not the least disconnected or buffet. There exists a loving loneliness in this work, a heartbreaking tonality and compassion. Keith's virtuosity is undeniable, but there is no hint of pyrotechnics here, nothing extra; knowledge never eclipses emotion. The recording is simply beautiful. New York taxis roar, Keith breathes between phrases, overdubs click -- all haphazard dimensionality as time bends and rules break. Deep stuff. If you listen on headphones, your loved one approaches, presses his/her face against yours, says, "what IS that?" It's one of my favorite records. PEOPLE, Keith Ganz seems to've composed a record for us, and tirelessly in spite.
