"WHATEVER IT TAKES" by The KEN BATTISTA BAND featuring Ken, Dave Ross and Juan Kamuca. This eleven song journey of KB originals is packed with hooks and harmonies that many are comparing to Steely Dan, Todd Rundgren, The Beatles, Beach Boy's and Beck!! "A style (or non-style) all their own, thought provoking and witty". Get your copy today!

"WHATEVER IT TAKES" also features "Centralia". A song
that NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC filmed Ken performing on location for an upcoming documentary about mine fires. Battista's haunting ballad appears on many Centralia websites in addition to "The United Mine Rescue Association" website.

I came upon your song and I must say that it brought tears to my eyes. You have done a beautiful job of representing Centralia through your lyrics and music. When I play your song, I can't help but to cry and think about what was once a beautiful town, is now but a shell of a place it was. I grew up a few miles from Centralia, and spent alot of days in Centralia with friends. I tell my children about it and they can't believe it, all they know is what they see now, so I started researching it and came up with some good links and pictures to show them. Thanks for such a great song...keep up the good work. Tammy Locust Gap, Pa

I bought your "No More Wishin" CD several years ago, am still playing it a lot, and still lovin' it. Trust the new CD will be just as good.

Your song about "Centralia" moved me and the rest of my beautiful family.
Your song about "Centralia" moved me and the rest of my beautiful family. To make such heartwaming music about an awful fire makes me proud to be in this country. My retarded son began to cry tears of joy and confusiton upon hearing about this forgotten town's struggle. May God bless you.

Thank you for touching my family's life with your words! Best of luck to you!
My family stopped in Centralia on our way home to Michigan. We came upon your song and I must say that it brought tears to my eyes. You have done a beautiful job of representation through your lyrics and music. When I play your song, I feel the pain that Centralia has dealt with... The town may eventually be no more, but your words and the sights within the town will burn in memories forever! Thank you for touching my family's life with your words! Best of luck to you! Laura

Ken Battista Band, an articulate and gifted trio from the King of Prussia area has just released its second CD entitled “Whatever It Takes”. Like their debut CD “No More Wishin” in 1999, it contains 11 original tracks. The bands many influences are mostly a subtle nod of respect while each track rises up, blossoming into its own personality. This is a diverse collection of wry and witty observations. Starting off with “Stumbling Creatures”, one of the best songs you will hear anywhere about the human spirit. About getting knocked down and getting back up, struggling through life yet enjoying and appreciating it's basic rewards. All that said and out of the way, the guys feel free to introduce an array of characters from “Unusual Lou” to “Clever Hans”. Along the way lamenting a love affair, comparing it to three lost wars in “Waterloo”. A haunting look at the aftermath of a natural disaster in “Centralia” and the obsession Americans seem to have with ‘reality t.v.’ in “The Almost Reality Show”. Each song ranges in style from Jazz to Pop. Though just as you think you may have them labeled, something grabs you to make you realize they are in a category all by themselves. At times soft and melodic at others punchy and danceable. This CD is full of catchy tunes and enviable hooks as good as you will hear anywhere. You will find these guys always interesting and above all full of passion for their craft.

Have been listening to the new CD a lot and gettin' hooked on it more and more........Waterloo is great!!! Also really like Stumbling Creatures. Hard to pick favorites as I like them all.

Sales will be booming!
My mother's family is from Centralia, although not one of the remaining 21 survivors. The tune is beautiful, but how sad. Sent your website to all the cousins. Sales will be
booming. Ken, you could write another song about the lovers' lane that existed along the strip mines.

I played your song over and over...
I played your song over and over while viewing the website photos about Centralia. What a haunting melody and mood setting verse, it really set the tone for making those pictures come alive.
