Album Notes
This composition was written by jazz guitarist/composer Kenny Burrell as a musical letter of gratitude to the prominent humanitarian and statesman Ralph J. Bunche. The recording features Burrell on acoustic and electric guitar, as well as several special guests including Hubert Laws (flute and piccolo), Charles Owens (soprano saxophone and bass clarinet), Bobby Rodriguez (trumpet and flugelhorn), Llew Matthews (piano), Roberto Miranda (bass and conga drums), and Wayne Peet (marimba). The orchestra features many UCLA jazz program students, and was conducted for this performance by Charley Harrison (who, with Burrell, orchestrated the composition).
