ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The breadth of the program on Bijoux gives you some idea of Kent's familiarity with the guitar world and the greats who have gone before. Certainly Lenny Breau and Chet Atkins can be heard influencing some of Kent's arrangements, but in recent years he has been influenced just as much by pianists. Listening to Kent's masterful reading of Alex North's 'Love Theme From Spartacus' one can not help but be reminded of Bill Evans who first brought that melody to the attention of the jazz world. I feel honoured that Kent has selected a couple of my tunes for inclusion in his program, as would any composer, to have such an interpreter.

Essential listening!
For fans of guitar music, and music lovers in general - this is absolutely essential listening! As the note above mentioned, Kent is obviously influenced by the likes of Chet and Lenny, but he has developed his own identity on the instrument. At times exciting, and other times reflective, this is a well-balanced set of music sure to inspire the guitarist as well as the casual listener. Please buy this recording and tell your friends - maybe we can get him to record another album!
