Album Notes
Kevin Kareckas is a multi-instrumentalist, educator, producer, and DJ, from South Berwick, Maine (United States). "Briana" has long been an untitled instrumental melody that Kevin has played and developed for 15 or so years prior to release on guitar. The unexpected passing of a dear friend inspired the lyrics that were written in stream of conscience freestyle.

"Briana McLaughlin and I attended Wheelock College together in Boston. This single is a commemorative project (and yes, selfishly therapeutic). The release features three versions of the same song, titled "Briana", with variations: "Studio", "Porch", and "Instrumental". The song has actually been in process since circa 2004 in instrumental form. The melody has long been one of my "go-to's" when practicing guitar. I never had the intention of drafting lyrics or actually developing it for others to hear; however, while settling into a new studio location in Rutland County (Vermont, USA) I played this song and immediately starting singing the lyrics in a stream of conscience freestyle. The lyrics have gone unchanged since that evening. It feels right to reflect upon a life taken too soon with a song that was published before it was fully ready." -Kevin Kareckas

Briana dedicated an untold amount of her young/adult life to supporting those without a home, folks in recovery, children, and families. Publication of this track seeks to continue elements of her work, humbly and in part, by distributing all revenue from the project to organizations in line with these passions.

Any marketing, performance, or promotion of the single will be anchored by normalizing recovery, supporting LGBTQIA+ youth, and improving the lives of children and families.
