ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"One day, riding through the sagebrush and planes as strong as the native Wyoming winds that spawned him, came Kevin McNiven. Of all the things that can be said of this man, the most striking thing is…he's a "true horseman." Not someone who just rides horses, but someone who lives horses. His father was a horseman, and like father, like son.

it is always with great excitement and much fanfare that we welcome talented new faces into the world of cowboy music but Kevin is no new face… he just decided we all should hear about him. he has literally traveled the world over representing the state of Wyoming as the official singing ambassador for the "Cowboy State" and his first album, "It's Wyoming", showcased his silky, smooth vocal style.

When I first met Kevin in Tucson, Arizona he had just won the world championship yodeling contest. I knew right then that the rest of the world would hear about Kevin McNiven in short order. When he asked me to produce this album, I was certain I would be a part of something that would not only leave a distinct "earmark" on the annals recorded western music, but also I would be privileged to witness the blossoming of one of the best "real cowboy" singers to ever come down the trail. In a very short time, we became close friends, and for this, I am grateful to Kevin McNiven

Seldom do we see and hear artists like this. This is someone who actually lives their music on a daily basis and treats life with the quiet reverence it deserves. Whether it be splitting the breeze with the snaffle and rein, or yodeling an old cowboy tune, Kevin paints a picture for the listener or observer. Soon after, he magically connects you with your kindred spirits of old, and you realize this guy is for real!" - Duke Davis, Rockin' Double "D" Productions
