ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Kevin Ray is a songwriter originally from Los Angeles, California. He has a unique stlye of piano based pop rock derived from growing up on artists like Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Joni Mitchell, and Billy Joel mixed with elements of theatre, jazz and soul music. His songs are personal and literate and run from intensely emotional to humorous to political.
He has spent time in San Diego fronting the blues rock band "Chuck Roast and the Electric Brunch" , -co-founded the theatrical rock outfit "Ma's Furnace", released four solo c.d.s and was a union agitator on Sunset Blvd. He has written and staged a reading of a full lenth musical-"The Last Word" about jazz musicians in Los angeles in the 40's and is at work on another. He is currently living and performing in New York City and recording his next project.

kevin has a couple songs in the new film "Zerophilia" coming out on October 13th- "Raw Nerve" and "I Don't believe you have it in you-he is also putting the finishing touches on a new double cd of music- it should be available early next year-or maybe by the holidays-check out "music" for some selections

Piano rock!
I was looking for someone like Ben Folds, and stumbled onto Kevin Ray. I love the 'search by what instrument the music features' thing on CD Baby! That's how I found this gem! Love songs 2 and 4 - that's why I bought the CD. And the piano ballads and piano work is good. If you're looking for full-band music really driven by the piano, this is it.

A True Artist...
Track 14 is my favorite but that is because he wrote it for me...true story...I asked him to write a song describing what it was like to be trapped in your body, at the time I was morbidly obese...since then have lost the weight...but when I listen to this song today I am right back there...I will never forget when he sang it for me the first time..I wept...it was so right on! But that is what is so great about Kevin's music, every song sounds like it was written for you...it speaks to you in away that is personal and meaningful and that is what true artists do.

You will never regret buying this CD...it will be in my collection forever! :)
THANK YOU KEVIN!!! xoxox
