Album Notes
Key Elements, Singapore's highly acclaimed jazz and pop a cappella group, has always loved pushing boundaries and taking challenges. For their latest endeavour, the group decided to do what no other contemporary a cappella group has done in Singapore – record a full-length CD album of all originals.

The album title, “Uncovered”, is a double entendre as there are no cover versions at all and, the versions at all and, at the same time, it is a discovery of something previously unknown. The 11 songs, all composed and arranged by the group’s co -founding member Jason Ong, are varied both in style and subject matter. From upbeat tunes to contemplative numbers, the diverse selection gives fans a glimpse into the intimate side of the group.

This album also sees a change in members : soprano Gail joined the group in 2011 and vocal percussionist Cherie became the group's newest member in 2013. So it was only natural that the members discover things about each other (even among the older members) while recording this album. The intensive hours spent rehearsing and recording also leads to a better-blended and tighter sound.

“Uncovered” represents a fresh new start for Key Elements who, having faced challenges and changes in their line up over the past few years, have recovered their momentum and regained their sense of fun.

So put on your headphones and rediscover yet another facet of Key Elements – Uncovered.
