ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
My music encompasses an enormous amount of styles such as funk, blues, classical, metal, rock, and country, psychedelic & electronic which is why I chose titles like “collage & bouquet”. I have passed out my work for review & “Zappa” is what I have been blessed to hear. Instrumental Zappa-esk is how I describe my work but it is very different I\'m proud to say & yes Zorn & Mr. Bungle and all of those anti-avant-guard types in the progressive world might come close to my aspirations but I hear The Beatles (you know that 70\'s experimental thing) in my actual recording style because of the analog layers. (this I won\'t change, modern recording continues down its flawed path) Yet there are also the simple works; for instance, on my 4th CD, 4th & Nowhere, I have enveloped over 100 movements or stylistic changes, so it is difficult to describe what one will hear from track to track. Listening to part of a track cannot fully relay the extent of what will happen stylistically throughout each track because there are no boundaries as to where I will take the music from each second. Please think of this as you examine the works & remember that this is a home studio of one where I have to push record & run to my drum set in time to start recording. Yeah, its loads of fun! And that is what this is all about! Sure I’d like to sell & gain some notoriety, but hell, I like what I’m doing & you might too if you listen for composition & originality and a few glimpses of complex guitar work set to the beat of art.

I’m a 70’s rock music enthusiast; particularly the progressive and fusion based trailblazers, jazz freak, and moved profoundly by the classical virtuosos. Guitar is my chief instrument and the interplay between melody and originality is my focus while incorporating various styles. Another common element within my CD’s is that I use samples that are warped and refashioned to add an atmospheric semblance which works well with my purely instrumental rhapsodies. Each track might be several ideas fused meticulously utilizing acoustic, electric & classical guitar over any possible backdrop such as electronic, rock, metal, blues, country, funk as well as jazz. I like aggressive musicianship combined with tempered beauty & thought reflecting individuality and a heart felt style and pulse irrefutably recognizable.

I\'m a music fanatic with interests in many genres\'. Guitar is my main instrument so I try to see and hear as many guitarists as possible. I have a huge music collection (including vinyl which is growing exponentially) specializing in my eclectic interests. All of my work is done from beginning to end by myself. On this recording I made it into the computer age with a music program, microphones (the wife & I got a house) and I\'ve been able to utilize my drum skills. In a audio sense, this is a grand step up from my first recording. There is much more variation in guitar tone, the \"real drums\" takes the music beyond the fixed drum machine monotony and stylistically I cover a much broader stroke.

My whole philosophy of music is this: I\'d rather hear Art Tatum or Oscar Peterson or Elliot Fisk, Chopin or Stevie Ray Vaughn or just someone who can actually play and has talent or originality or at least something meaningful to say that they actually might believe in even if there\'re recorded in mono in a crowded party room with loss of audio quality, noise and buzz then 90% of what I hear in the \"market\".

From hard funk rock - rhythm & blues, country, classical constructs: all fashioned in an electronic mood, with mellow psychedelic and highly experimental melodic ideas.

I\'m into constructing deceptively simple ideas, playing melodic leads with stereo counterparts. When it comes to rock I tend to like the British 70\'s scene because not only did the analog recordings project a warm tone but there seemed to be much more room for experimentation. I like hearing an album of something new, unusual, like the Beatles White Album or Hendrix\'s works. When listening to this era, one gets a sense of, \"Now What?\" Who could comprehend what kind of sound or style would be next from track to track? That\'s what I\'ve tried to do here. I hope it works for you.

You\'ll hear styles that are industrial/electronic hard rock like NIN, Ministry, or Black Sabbath with multiple rhythms bouncing from ear to ear. I do recommend good headphones. This is some serious Head Music. Then there\'s the lighter side of country or Clapton/CCR styles. A few tracks are definitely of the psychedelic vein like Pink Floyd/Camel and these serve to really round out the overall album with their mellow and free flowing feeling. Some tracks are happy & goofy; some are haunting, angry & aggressive.
