Album Notes
Kgomotso's music takes you on a storytelling journey to indigenous African music performance that is expressed through dance and clothing design. Her compositions are in isiZulu, Tshivenda, Sesotho, French, English and Shona influenced primarily by Venda rain maker rhythms.

Kgomotso named the album after Unoyiwawa, a mythical African Super Hero, the "Strong One who does not Fall who protects communities from natural disasters. Unoyiwawa is Nomkhubulwane's daughter". Nomkhubulwane is an ancient Zulu legend, a Spirit being, the goddess of nature, fertility and rain, strongly related to the origins of human kind from an African mythological perspective.

This is Kgomotso le Roux’s debut album after 14 years in the music industry having started as a backing vocalist in 2003. Kgomotso started singing at 9 months and has been writing music since the age of 9, for herself and has worked with Mpumi Dlamini, RJ Benjamin, Ifani, Letoya Makhene, Vusi Nova, Blondie Makhene, Ringo Madlingozi, Tlale Makhene, Yonela Manana, Theo Nhlengethwa, Tresor, amongst others and produced albums for a number of independent musicians. Her first love is composition. She has produced original music for Takalani Sesame, Wastebuster and LEGO in recent years. In September this year Kgomotso performed at Dr. Sello Galane’s Pula Festival at the State Theatre in Pretoria, South Africa.

The songs in Kgomotso’s album are inspired by a need to create child friendly music that centers your thoughts in positivity.

A proud mother of 3 and wife, she makes the best of every day balancing being a parent, studying to get an Advanced Diploma in Business Project Management through the University of Cape Town (completion date is December 2017), running her clothing and textile manufacturing company, Khwela Factory and teaching music at the Home of Hope Community Center based at the Funda Community College in Soweto.
