Album Notes
"I love the sound of this recording. It's a pleasure to listen to; it made me smile all the way through." Stu Brotman

Traditional, pure klezmer dance tunes that want to make you move! For years, Khupe is playing for dancing at international festivals and workshops, working with the best teachers in Cracow, London, New York or Weimar. Here are the results, no filters, no edits, first take. Limited edition, comes in a handfolded cardboard sleeve.

This is what the liner notes say:
"Klezmer music is a lot more than music to dance to - yet, dancing plays a vital, central role in Yiddish culture. Yiddish dance has developed and flourished immensely during recent years, and Khupe has spent many, many happy hours playing for dancing at festivals, workshops, parties, and concerts in Europe and America. This record simply celebrates what is part of our lives in addition to creating art music: playing straight klezmer dance tunes in a traditional way, no gimmicking around, no artsy arrangements. No edits, no second takes. A field recording of our own work, so to speak. Enjoy, and dance!"

And this is what Stu Brotman (Brave Old World, The Klezmorim) really said...:
"So here I am, in bed with my earphones on, with the bass cranked all the way up (I AM a bass player, after all), listening to this glorious playing, luxuriously long medleys you could dance to forever! I love the sound of this recording. It's a pleasure to listen to; it made me smile all the way through."

Fun music that's as easy as 1-2-3
The 3rd CD by the German duo is their simplest yet offers lots of pleasure. Klezmer is dance music, wedding music in fact, and Christain and Sanne move through this program with great energy. It sure sounds like they're having fun. Recorded in one session with no overdubs, the duo sticks to the basics and the results are quite rewarding.
