Shadows on the Ground

by Kieran Kane

This album was recorded live with no fixes or overdubs--just people singing and playing, pretty much like the living room recordings we used to make as kids. Sometimes I think the world could use a bit more simplicity--here is my offering. --Kieran Kane

Album Notes
"The intelligence and artistry at work on this album are remarkable."--Erik Hage, AllMusic

"For there to be shadows on the ground, there must be light from above. Kieran Kane stands tall in the Americana scene, and his light is a beacon."--Charlene Blevins, Paste Magazine

""Shadows on the Ground" is one of Kieran Kane's finest, most eloquent works. The low-keyed album is an end-to-end delight. "--Michael Tearson, Sing Out

""Shadows on the Ground" is the latest solid effort from an artist whose body of work has to be counted as some of the finest genuine country produced in the past decade."--Mike Easterling, Albuquerque Journal
Kieran Kane's music is adult in the truest sense of the word. His explorations of mature love, struggles with personal difficulties, and the meaning of life lead directly to his philosophical explorations of faith and life on his more recent releases.

The maturity is not surprising; Kieran's been a successful Top Ten solo artist, a member of the duo The O'Kanes (with Jamie O'Hara), with whom he had six more Top Tens and received rave reviews, and a successful songwriter (he wrote Alan Jackson's huge hit "I'll Go On Loving You"). He left his Atlantic lable in the early 1990s and soon formed Dead Reckoning Records with Harry Stinson, Kevin Welch, Tammy Rogers and Mike Henderson.

He has done several albums with Kevin Welch, Fats Kaplin and Lucas Kane as Kane Welch Kaplin, and did an album with Lucas and David Francey, "Go Jane Go."
