Album Notes
Kimberly Bass is a multi-talented singer~songwriter heralding from the high mountain country of Northern California. Her melodic, heartwarming songs blend the rustic experience of a barefoot country girl, with keen lyrical insight and divine inspiration. A versatile and accomplished vocalist, Kimberly has toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Japan. Her time has been spent with Grammy Winning vocalist, Diane Schuur and Grammy Nominated vocalist, Maria Muldaur. Kimberly is featured on Maria Muldaur’ s "Heart of Mine” album, the Love Songs of Bob Dylan that remained #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart (2006) for over four consecutive weeks.

Kimberly has been honored receiving First Place in the 2006 U.S.A Songwriting Competition for her song, "Callin' All Angels" (Gospel) and Third Prize, Best Overall. Featured musicians accompany Kimberly her winning song are the late, Carlos Vega on drums and Jimmy Johnson on bass (James Taylor’s Band), Will Ray on guitars (Hellecasters), Maxine, Julia and Oren Waters, and Carmine Twillie (Pink Floyd) on backing vocals. Produced by Play Tone Record's, Mark Wolfson.

Kimberly's performance credits include the Newport Jazz & Folk Festival, the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Winnipeg Folk Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center, the Blue Note (N.Y.C), as well as performances in Japan at Tokyo's Keystone Korner and The Maderao Jazz Festival. Other performances include the Beacon Theater (N.Y.C.), Mountain Stage, Nashville Now, and the New Orleans Jazz Heritage Festival! Also, Seattle's Opera House, Bumbershoot and Folklife Festivals in Seattle, The Fillmore, San Francisco and Earth Dance's Global Peace Celebration in Northern California.

Kimberly continues to write and record her original songs and is currently recording her third record with her six-piece band, Trance Zen Dance. The group has been together over seven years and performs to audiences throughout the Northern California region, drawing impressively, large crowds. They are described, as “more than a musical act, they are a theatrical experience. Their eclectic stage show is a state of the art emotive journey from evocative prayerformance and ritual theater to trance inducing tribal beats. Their successful blend of organic instruments with electronic production and powerful vocals has created a fresh new sound that represents the cutting edge of the newly emerging "conscious" music genre, where positive messages of global unity and sustainability are as important as the music. Think Thievery Corporation meets Dead Can Dance with the poetic overtones of Laurie Anderson and you might get a hint of what TZD has in store."-Chris Deckker (founder of Earthdance International)

One facet of Kimberly’s talent concerns her ability to forge meaningful and musically successful alliances with other artists. From her otherworldly unique style of singing harmonic chants with Crystal Singing Bowls, or her “shouting, stomping, invigorating, climatic, call-and-response gospel performance” with Diane Schuur (Leonard Feather, Los Angeles Times), Kimberly continues to turn heads and move hearts throughout her musical career.

“The originality and heartfelt sincerity of Kimberly's convictions, take the listener on a spiritual journey. Her music reflects the highs and lows of love, speaking the language of the heart. She is a very talented lady who lives with integrity and purpose”.

Favorite CD when I'm needing a lift.
Sacred Ground is one of the most heartfelt CDs I've come across. Callin' All Angels and Buffalo's Eyes are two of my all time favorite songs. Kimberly is definitely speaking from the heart and I'm grateful for having found her music. I highly recommend checking it out!
