ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Pianist Kimberly Davis captures her audience’s imagination with her vibrant performances and attention to nuance and color. According to the critics, she demonstrates "insurmountable dedication and professionalism with sublime interpretations with great musicality and technical mastery."(El Vocero, Puerto Rico) She has performed extensively in Puerto Rico, the United States, and Latin America.
Kimberly is dedicated to promoting the works of Latin American composers, especially Puerto Rican composers. Her album "La Ondina: Una Colección de Música Puertorriqueña para Piano" consists solely of works by Puerto Rican composers. Recorded in the Jesús María Sanromá Hall of the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, "La Ondina" offers a rich variety of solo piano music from Puerto Rico's past. Besides well-loved gems such as "Margarita" and "Lamento Borincano," Kimberly also includes lesser-known works such as Pourelle: Canción de Cuna by Amaury Veray, which was one of the first works he composed, and "Bajo el Oro del Crepúsculo: Vals Lento" by Monsita Ferrer, a work she dedicated to her companions aboard the Transatlantic Victoria Luisa. Kimberly's expertly executed interpretations breathe life into this beautiful music and will surely touch her listeners. "La Ondina" is a great album for fans of any genre of music.
In 2011, Kimberly released a solo piano album entitled “A Classical Garden,” featuring works by Debussy, Brahms, Haydn, and Prokofiev. It is available on Itunes and in other digital stores.
