ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Kim Cage Riley, was born Kim Jeanine Cage and raised in Waukegan, IL which is 60 miles north of Chicago, IL. She grew up around music, her Godfather was Ike Cole (Nat King Cole's brother) so needless to say Natalie Cole was a big influence in her life. Kim was always singing and dancing around the house, entertaining family and friends and wining local talent shows. After college, she moved to Mpls, MN to pursue her singing career. While performing at a night club called Ruperts, she was introduced to Jesse Johnson of the Time and became one of his background singers. Jesse Johnson later formed a group called, 3 Shades Brown on Interscope Records which he produced “Stronger than Strong” along with Keith Lewis (QMillion). Kim was the lead singer on this project. Kim co-wrote several of the songs on that album. Kim also co-wrote a song for Cheryl Lynn’s album called, “Whatever It Takes”. During this time Kim also co-wrote and appeared on several sound tracks for block buster movies such as: “Action Jackson”, “White Men Can’t Jump” and Another 48 Hours “The Boys are Back in Town”, with Jesse Johnson.
