ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Kim is the granddaughter of an Assemblies of God minister. She grew up singing in church and began writing songs at age four. Keeping with the axiom of "stick with what you know", Kim's songs focus on relationships and humanity from a Christian perspective. Her songs are contemplative and rich with meaning.

On a more personal note, Kim is a mom of two who takes care of her kids and works full time for SHOP.COM from home. Daughter Zoë was born on September 22, 2005 and son Zachary on February 26, 2002. Zachary was ten weeks early and stayed in the hospital for six long weeks before coming home. During that time nurses played Kim's CD, Acacia, during the night when he would get unsettled. The CD was a hit in the NICU!

The story behind the name Acacia is an interesting one. Acacia is believed to be the type of bush that contained the presence of God in the form of fire when God spoke to Moses. (Exodus 3) Acacia is also the wood that was used to construct the Ark of the Covenant, which too, contained the awesome presence of God. (Exodus 37)

Kim's simple prayer for this CD was that it would contain the anointing and presence of God, bringing that presence to all those who listen.
