Album Notes
This album features the great King Robinson, A.K.A. Rob Sulski on vocals and harp. Rob has been a respected bluesman for years, but this is his first album. After making a big splash at the 2004 Illinois Blues Festival, it was decided to produce this album, "Hit The Big Time".
This album also features the guitar playing of legendary blues sideman Bruce Williams, who started his blues career in 1969 in the south and west side blues clubs of Chicago. He played in the Junior Wells band, Lefty Dizz's Chicago Fire, The Mark Hannon's Blues Band & Jimmy Dawkin's band. He also shared the stage with Willie Dixon, Hound Dog Taylor, Buddy Scott, Jimmy Rodgers and Jimmy Reed. The rest of the Housewrecker's include Marty Willis on bass and Jeff Blum on drums, two outstanding blues players, and veteran blues guitarist Mike Landers on guitar. Mike's distinctive playing conveys a sense of distant blues traditions and keeps the band centered. There are 3 live cuts on the album featuring some guest musicians: Eric Van Dyne on guitar, John Fritzel on keys and Mark Wallace on drums. This is some good blues, and without the copycat licks so often heard these days. With King Robinson's stirring harp tone and soulful singing, and with tasty guitar licks throughout the album...blues lovers will dig this music!!

Astounding players. Where have these guys been hiding.
I remain astounded by this CD. What a production! I can't take it out of my CD player. The masterful mixes, players and variety! This is some serious blues. It has soulfull, funky, seriously low down, and strait ahead blues all wrapped up in one package. Where have these players been hiding? I simply can not wait for King Robinson's next release.

"Holy Blues" this cd rocks"
Very smooth and continous minutes of pure satisfaction!I laid on my bed and listened to this masterpiece and meditated! Actually imagined watching the band play, and seeing the musicians getting into their riffs.Added it to my music library on my pc so it is always close at hand for those laid back know the kinda nights you just have to listen to some blues. For some reason i favor "300 POUNDS OF jOY", touched my heart, and made me laugh at the same time.Keep doing what your doing you HOUSEWRECKERS,YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING fact alot right!!! I give you A+ AND ITS GOOD TO DANCE TO(american bandstand circa 1972!!)Noella Bella

Loved this CD, I have played it over and over. I had never heard of him, listened to a few samples here and bout the CD. I'm really impressed.

Every cut is a gem on this power house CD.
When it comes to blues rock, there are few bands that can make every cut on their CD a winner. This one does it!
I challenge anyone to find something on this album that sucks. It can't be done. This is the first CD I have ever heard that is a great listen all the way through. Great musicianship, song selection, writing and what a fantastic sounding mix. This CD gives you the feel of being in a live club situation with all of the good vibes that flow from that experience and more. Get this CD now!

King Robinson Hit the Big Time
Absolutely spectacular. I've been playing the blues all my life and am thrilled to hear the innovative sounds of the King and the House Wreckers. And in real life concerts they are great. This CD is a must to have. Dr. Ralph Kylloe, New York

Hit The Big Time A Big Hit!
King Robinson & The Housewrecker's first long play effort sounds like music played for the sole reason of-playing music! In others words the music has a flowing, unhurried quality to it that usually can only be achieved by musicians who have nothing to prove and are free of corporate restraints or expectations. The musicians-Rob Sulski (harp and lead vocals),Bruce Williams (lead, rhythm guitar, vocals),Mike Landers (rhythm, lead guitar),Marty Willis (bass guitar),Jeff Blum (drums),are all seasoned Chicago area players and have been playing together roughly since the millenium.Primarily a nightclub act,the boys have honed and sharpened their sound through weekly gigging and appearances at various blues festivals throughout Illinois. The CD cuts a somewhat wide swath through the blues catalog with offerings ranging from John Lee Hookers' "Crawlin' King Snake" to Howlin' Wolf's "Who's Been Talking".Other well known standards include Son Seal's "Funky Bitch",Lowell Fulson's "Reconsider Baby",Willie Dixon's "300 Pounds of Joy" and Eddie Boyd's "Five Long Years".The opening cut "Ice Cream Man" is a "must hear",as well as Percy Mayfield's classic "Memory Pain".King Robinson and Co. treat the songs with kind arrangements that renders the music very listenable. Not much more can be said about this recording as the time would be better spent listening to it.King Robinson & The Housewreckers were not in a hurry to record this CD,but you should definitely be in a hurrry to buy it!
