‘Window to the Ashram’ is a debut full-length album independently recorded and released by Kinsmen. The album is a poetic collection of narratives developed over two years of experimentation with eastern and western modes of improvised musical expression.

In ‘Window to the Ashram’ Kinsmen re-asserts their creative identity as South African people of Indian descent. The project intentionally creates a space for dialogue between tradition and modernity in a confused globalised social landscape.
