Album Notes
Kira Braun and Peter Krochak began working together in the spring of 2013 and found an immediate connection in their love of creating beautiful music together. Both Kira and Peter have had long corporate careers, always with some musical endeavours on the sidelines ~ now they are focusing more on their passions and the result has been an incredible journey of discovery and enjoyment.

Kira and Peter first performed together in a fundraiser concert to raise money for the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in Toronto, in support of the Weekend to End Women's Cancers. After this they decided to explore what their efforts might sound like in a recording studio, and ended up releasing their recordings of Maurice Ravel's "5 Greek Folksongs" on a CD entitled "Beautiful Memories / Omorfa Oneira" in May of 2014. While these 5 Folksongs are typically sung in French, Kira decided to sing them in Greek, as a tribute to Kira's husband Aris's family.

They are thrilled to now also release several more recordings, on a new CD entitled "Exult, Rejoice!", featuring their voice and piano rendition of Mozart's famous "Exsultate, Jubilate", along with 5 selections of Franz Schubert's renowned Lieder.

Kira's crystal tones are well suited for Mozart and she handles the passages with ease and flexibility. Her Schubert is soulfully done and has received accolades on her presentation.

"Kira brings a rare vulnerability to 'Gretchen am Spinnrade' that comes from deep inside. The tenderness and emotional turbulence of Gretchen comes shining through."

Peter's brilliant piano and sensitive support is the foundation upon which their magic is created, in the studio and on stage. Peter is planning some recordings of his own in the near future.

"The piano parts are excellently executed." "Very impressive."

2015 will see new exploration by this duo, into the areas of Rachmaninoff, Faure, Schumann, and more.
Kira and Peter plan to perform regularly in the Toronto area.
