Kiss The Sky is a modern blues train, steaming into new sonic territory.

Born in Chicago the guitarist-producer Jean-Paul Bourelly is a free-range, blues sorcerer who has always for fresh musical experiences. This CD is characterized by strong guitar leads and cross-rhythms with a healthy dose of pimped up re-sampled esoteria, against a backdrop of groovey drum and bass. If one is hungering for a fresh experience then this abum will take you there.

On this set of tracks Bourelly connects blues with funk, hypnotic, and outer body digital imaginations, melted down into a fresh jazz-like impulse. The group is augmented by the organic vocal delivery of Isabelle Rivera Dikumbi. Make no mistake, this is the tradition of change and a quest for sonic and rhythmic uncharted territory. It's a sound that asks questions and reflects the ever migrating soul, soul that is necessary for thoughtful music.

The music is further elevated by the sound of the bands world view sonic footprints.

The band started out doing cover songs but over 7 years the Berlin based musicians have evolved a unique sound that was buried deep in those cover songs.

"If music is to serve the people, then we are artists putting down our creation for you, to suggest new ways, to stimulate thought and feeling". (JPB)

Bourelly is joined by the other members of Kiss The Sky. A first class line up of authentic soul players.

Kenny Martin previously appearing on JPGotMangos with Sadiq Bey and Citizen X and a musician who has played and recorded with countless funk groups in his career, including Defunkt, brings a thick drum beat with a sense of adventure.

Daryl Taylor is bassist from Houston Texas, living in Berlin, who worked with many greats in soul music including Archie Bell and the Drells and James Brown's legendary "funky drummers" Jab'o Starks and Clyde Stubblefield. His work here is stable and sure-handed, just what you would ask for accompanying JPB’s fire power.
