ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Kite are completely out to lunch. They are under the notion that the world cannot do without a band that sounds like The Police, UB40 and Crowded House all rolled into one, and have chosen the unlikeliest of launch pads for their musical moonshot. They can also demonstrate that climbing coconut trees is for trained rock musicians ONLY...and are reaching for the stars... even if they only turn up with coconuts.

Debut album 'Up In The Air' saw Kite working with the likes of Jeremy Harding (Sean Paul producer/manager) on their song 'Nice To Finally Meet You'. Sadly, it appears to have been Jeremy's last foray into rock. Pity. He was so nice in the studio. Nice shoes too.

Recent events include Kite song 'Firefly' featuring on US TV series Ghost Whisperer (with the 'fwaaaarrrr' Jennifer Love-Hewitt), and a local Barbadian department store ad. It has been widely agreed that the department store ad was the real coup d'Etat, such is the conservative nature of the island.

Kite have finished their follow-up album and it is to be released in April 2007, though the tunes will be streaming on their MySpace profile and band website sooner...

On a Natural High
JJ and Brian showcase their creativity and ability to write gorgeous, haunting, catchy songs, and well as reinvent old songs (the remake of Supertramp's Breakfast in America). JJ's voice is clean, expressive, and powerfully moving, and Brian's guitar solos are breathtaking. These guys are great on stage and it reflects in the music on thge album, it's funky, original, excellently produced and a must-have for ALL indie-rock, folk and alternative lovers. Well-done, guys!

too hot to handle baby
Kite's music sounds like an interesting blend between George Michael, Elton John, the Village People and maybe some of the later Spice Girls records. I hope your cd comes out soon so I can keep it next to my Avril Lavigne and Ashley Simpson cds.
You guys rock!

Up in The Air
I always love Original and new music... Kite has that flavor. The mix of the island vibe with the pop, rock and a dash of hip hop. That is how alternative music should be played.
Once they stay true to vibe they can make good music.

Awesome sound, catchy tunes, brilliant.
First saw Kite while in Barbados, instantly bought the CD (actually 2 copies, long story) and I'm glad I did. They have the ability to catch and keep your interest from track 1 through repeat all, to track 1 again. The only CD so far I've stayed in the car to sing along to, rather than go in the house. Be warned, you will sing along too. I wish the guys every success.

Simply Fantastic
One of the few albums I can listen to and enjoy track to track without skipping. Definitely satisfied with my purchase, eagerly looking forward to the second opus.

Keep it up...don't give it up!!!

An Undiscovered Gem !
After seeing Kite play at a popular nightclub in Barbados, I HAD to buy their CD "Up In The Air". To hear such a production from a Caribbean group was unusally stunning in both the musical and lyrical senses, making every other 'local' alternative group seem like wannabes. These guys have potential waiting to be discovered. A good CD !
