Album Notes
Like many aspiring artists, Chad Klinger first began his musical journey whilst lathering up his hair and belting out his favourite tune in the small corner shower within his boyhood home of Lashburn Saskatchewan. Singing was like breathing to him and some would say they never thought he took a breath with the constant noise he made. So it came as no surprise that Chad took a shine to kaoraoke at the age of 14 and soon found himself competing in various Provincial and National talent contests. After graduating high school in the only town he’d known he decided to fly the nest and begin University in Lethbridge. It was there he began playing guitar and fully immersiing himself in the craft of songwriting. School became secondary and after the passing of his father, Chad and his good friend and manager at the time, Chris Scheetz, found themselves recording a three song demo with Dean Sams, the keyboard player/band leader of the country group Lonestar. Though the recordings were meant to be demo’s, Chad decided to take a risk and release his first single entitled “Who Needs the Moon” which topped out at 30 on the Canadian Country Music Charts in early 1999. He broke the top 20 with his next single “Bring it On” and everything was moving along smoothly.
During this time, Chad fell in love, got married and was blessed with a bright, beautiful little girl. Though his passion for music still burned deeply, he understood his commitment to his family was most important and he decided to step back from a life of week long night club gigs and concentrate on providing for his family. At that time he accepted a position at CJNB Radio in North Battleford as a sales consultant and began a new life. Chad continued to play live shows throughout the next few years and after the birth of a second glorious gift in 2004 Chad accepted a position selling radio at CISN FM in Edmonton. It was there that his musical desires really began to rekindle. Over the next few years Chad focused himself on telling his life stories through song; preparing for the day when he would plunge himself back into the country music business he yearned for.
Then one day in the summer of 2007, while Chad was driving home from work and pondering his life he decided to call Gord Bamford. More of an acquaintance at the time, Gord seemed surprised that Chad called but was willing to help Chad get his career restarted. Over the next year Chad and Gord began co-writiing and now Chad believes he is ready to take on the challenge of building a strong future in the country music industry. His clear, airy, vocal abilities, strong songwriting talent and maturity earned over the course of the past decade positions him well for a promising future. His first single "Minivan Man" hit the top 50 on the Canadian Country charts and his new single "The Night Ain't Over Yet" is poised to do much more.
