Today's Man

by Kluge

Funny + rock + horns = Kluge! Think Beatles + Chicago + a pinch of funk/r&b here and there. And a ska tune and a pop song and....well you get the idea.

Album Notes
Where did the hashtag thing start? We used to call it a "pound sign."

At the risk of revealing my age, Imagine a time when there were no smart phones...or even cell phones. Then fast forward a few years (ahem, decades) and you look around and say "wow, things sure have changed!" And so you try to stay current and use apps for things like dating and dining. Maybe you're torn between Android vs. iPhone. You turn on the radio and there ain't much to choose from these days. Then you find yourself writing some groovy rock music and dust off your old trumpet and think "ok maybe this will work."

And thus Kluge was born.

I try to write funny songs for two reasons (1) I myself appreciate witty lyrics much more than generic stuff, and (2) You can get away with having a merely a "decent" voice (thanks for that lesson, Weird Al Yankovic). And so several of the songs on this album are about modern issues, and a few are about more universal issues like baking and gypsy curses. I hope you give it a listen and I hope you enjoy!
