Album Notes
Kodama Trio a group of composers, improvisers, and players making music in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jeremy Bleich plays electric bass, Milton Villarrubia III plays drums, and Robert Muller plays piano.

The original compositions on this album span over two decades and cover a lot of musical territory. Ultimately the music in this collection is the result of our mutual love and respect, as well as the special chemistry we were lucky enough to find.

This album was recorded in a single long session on March 7th, 2015 at the National Dance Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on a storied Yamaha concert grand–no overdubs, and just a time or two through each song. (Mixing and mastering took place in early 2016.) After the standing-room-only release concert held at the Santa Fe University of art and Design in the spring of 2016, the album went on to win two 2016 New Mexico Music Awards, one for best album and one for Milespost 22, the best jazz single.

We hope you'll enjoy listening to our debut album as much as we enjoyed developing and recording the music that's captured on it.

Our special thanks to Bert Dalton and NDI for the use of their studio, Second Street Brewery for giving us a regular venue to develop this music in front of a live audience, Tom Guralnick and The Outpost, and our lovely friends and families for their support.
