Album Notes
KOOS is an artist from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, known for his feelgood pop songs bursting with energy and power. They keep stuck in your head and make you sing along. KOOS has a clear, direct and distinctive sound to his voice. Together with his live band every gig is bound to be one big party!

His debut EP ´Electric Carpet Ride´ contains cheerful, uptempo and catchy guitar pop. Rooted firmly in 70′s-80′s pop/rock (think Queen, Billy Joel, ELO), with a modern touch and subtle hints of acts like Mika, Robbie Williams or Owl City.

KOOS not been writing pop songs that long yet. Up to 2011 he played in cover bands and spent too much time worshiping his heavy metal collection. It was indeed a peculiar turn of events when he was suddenly struck by tons of inspiration for all this bustling upbeat stuff. KOOS decided to follow his heart and payed visits to international songwriting and performance boot camps at Berklee Valencia, Mannheim Popakademie and UK Songwriting Festival. In Mannheim he met the producer with whom he recorded the EP at the Ducklake Studio (Hesel, Germany). At last in 2012, KOOS gathered a band that makes the EP kick ass at live shows too!

“Not everyone can write catchy pop tunes with hooks that stick in your head. KOOS shows that he knows how to do this.”
(Tijs van Liemt, 3FM radio, November 7, 2012)

“I’ve heard four of KOOS’ songs and all four of them can be sung along right away, so KOOS is capable of writing good pop songs. And that’s not just one, it’s more of them.”
(Menno Timmerman, A&R manager, November 3, 2012)

Vocals & guitars: KOOS.
Session musicians: Johannes Glashagen (drums & keys), David Ebermann (bass guitar), (keys), Björn Brinkmann (dance floor rap vocals), Aries ‘Evil’ Clive Bautista (saxophone & additional rap vocals).

I got that 'Piano man' goosbumbs kinda feeling!
I've been watching and listening to KOOS for a couple of years. Yesterday I bought a fresh copy of his new EP @ the release party. This day I really got goosebumbs from 'On the Edge'. Normally only Megadeth and Metallica can make me feel this way, so that says a lot for this poppy-singer. It just makes you feel allright!!!
