Album Notes
Kevin Patrick Baiko has been charming audiences for over a decade with his inspiring music, gentle spirit and off-the-wall humor. His songwriting is eclectic and well suited to his vocal and instrumental versatility. Borrowing from Country, Folk, Rock, Gospel and even World musical traditions, his songs are as timeless as his musical style is difficult to categorize.

KPB quote: "Fool's Gold was a "must do" sort of album... Its concept evolved over a decade of songwriting and inner growth until at last I had an eclectic collection of songs that seemed to correspond with the major initiations of life. I started recording Fool's Gold while living in the Shenandoah Valley, whose gospel heritage activated my roots in folk music. So this album represents a bridge for me between old age and new age, folk and rock, light-hearted and heart-felt, down-home and Universal. I might add here that it features some great musicians, including John Baldwin on electric guitar and "Two Gun" Terry on fiddle. It's a musical tarot through country, folk, rock, gospel and beyond... and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time recording it."

"Fool's Gold" has received positive reviews. Says Alicia Karen Elkins of Rambles Magazine, "The humor in these folksongs is off-the-wall and knee-slapping funny"; "Folks, old-time gospel just does not get better than this"; He (Baiko) is a master of voices and characterization."

For his work on "Fool's Gold" Nin9volt Magazine of Hampton Roads nominated him as "Virginia's Folk/Acoustic Artist of 2003." And Just Plain Folks has nominated his song "I Shall Praise" for "Best Gospel Song of 2003."

KPB quote: "What has pleased me most about the response to 'Fool's Gold' is that its songs seem to reach individuals in so many different ways. Some relate with one song, others are moved by another, and so on. Sharing IS the primary motivation behind my music (well that and showing off a bit) but the eclectic nature of 'Fool's Gold' enables it to touch a wide range of people."

Comprising over 90 minutes of original music on 2 CD's, "Fool's Gold" will hold your attention from start to finish, and you may just invite some friends over to listen again and have a hootenanny. "Fool's Gold" gets you in touch with the Hick Within! You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll say, "Oh my!"
