Album Notes
KPEC3arrival is the solo work of John Chaney III, a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter from Louisville, Kentucky (USA). His album is culled from songs he has written across his entire career as an indie artist. One of his first-written songs on the album was composed in 1992, inspired by German punk band Die Toten Hosen, KPEC3arrival's "The Police Knock". Also on the "Man vs himself" record are love ballads, "Love's a Tender Game", and darker syncopated minors with heavy keys, such as "Floating Away" and "Early Cold". The album wraps up on a high note with the upbeat rave texture of "X-Ray Beam". The album is titled "Man vs himself" because it reflects a conversation he had with a woman as he was gaining a foothold in the local scene. She said, "Your problem is not with other people. It's with yourself." Upon this revelation, John was able to complete his introspection and bring the album to fruition, reflecting this conversation also in the song "X-Ray Beam". He is currently working on his second album, with a working title of "Subterranean Heart", with a soft release date of Jan. 1, 2019.
