Album Notes
The story behind this album is as follows.... New Zealand resident Kris Baines was approached by the producer, as she had heard some of his music in a previous project . There was a need for a very "emotive" score for the climactic scene in the movie, and as yet the film-makers hadn't found what they were looking for. A novice to scoring for feature film, Kris thought the task to be daunting but sat down at the keyboard and prayed for inspiration! After sending the draft version through to the producer, director and editor Kris was pleasantly surprised to hear that it brought them to tears! After learning that the reason for the tears was a good one, being a romantic comedy of course - Kris was invited to score more music for the film. Over a period of 2 weeks, Kris managed to compose and record the majority of cues for the movie. The soundtrack was recorded in 2006, at Sing Sing Recording Studios in Melbourne, Australia. To hear more music by Kris Baines, who is now working as a freelance composer - please visit his website or check out his music on CD Baby. Kris lives in Christchurch, New Zealand with his wife Becky and their 6 children.
