ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes

The Seattle band's new pop folk EP is already turning heads. Stand out track "Way You Are" highlights Orlowski's baritone range, while tracks like "Oh No" and "Warsaw" pull from their northwest folk influences. The addition of two multi-instrumentalist on their freshman record as a five piece provides a colorful backdrop for Orlowski's songwriting to truly blossom in arrangement and depth. There is no shortage of diversity in the instrumentation on this preview record with glockenspiels, banjos, ebow, melodica, pedal and lap steel.

Be Yourself
I want to like Kris Orlowski's music. I do. But I'm waiting for him to be himself. I remember listening to Jessi and a few others, back when he wasn't trying to make his voice sound like someone else (where did he pick up the weird marble chewing accent?). Kris ... be Kris. And I just gotta add that it just FEELS like he's trying too hard to fit in with the Seattle scene thing (let's wear flannel and find some guys who look like hipsters). Just do your thing and be yourself. Get back to the basics of being Kris. People will probably like your music even more. There's a huge lineup of bands and guys doing the Seattle thing ... if you wanna get ahead and make a career ... do YOUR thing.
