ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This song was written to give people a lift. We ALL have ONE OF THOSE days.... but it's never the end of the world because we have a Savior! That was the message I wanted to share! And the uptempo, Corrine Bailey- Ray style song will leave you humming along and knowing things will be better!

Just One of those Days
Lost your keys or lost your heart
Had big plans that fell apart
When will it end Will it turn out right
Does this tunnel even have a light
CHORUS
It just one of those days
When you can’t find the answer
One of those days when your heart’s on the floor
One of those day you wish could go faster One of those days you need the Lord.
So those plans weren’t meant to be
He has more for you than you can see.
He’s there to lead you take you by the hand Beyond this valley is the promised land.
CHORUS
Dream will die people lie he’ll always be there- Loving you cheering you hearing each prayer
When nothings right there’s no light
He will protect you.
He will show the way
To make one of those days a happy ever after
One of those days Now your hearts up off the floor.
One of those days when you trusted the master. One of those days but it’s not any more.

This song was the first one I wrote, and it actually discribes the place I was in when I wrote it. I was praying for direction in how to share my talents and when I prayed to be able to write music, this is the song that came to me. So prayer was how I got my direction, and prayer is how all of us get direction, especially when we feel stuck. The lyrics are taken from the Experience of young Joseph Smith as he searched for truth in religion. He read Jame 1:5 which stated, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." He went to the woods to pray and received this answer:

"I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me.

When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!"
This story that I had heard and shared for my entire life, was suddenly an experience that completely related to my serach for truth and direction. The original lyrics were really focused on Joseph Smith's experience, but I realized that a broader audience would not be familiar with his experience. I have included the original lyrics:

Then A Light
*Young boy searching for the truth among men
He reads Ask me and it shall be given
He knows nothing is impossible
so He goes Kneeling on the ground so humble
Chorus
And then a light descends
Brighter than the noonday sun
The truth he sends
Showing him what should be done
His love surrounds and faith is found
And then the light shows him the way
I’m scared feeling I am going nowhere
Can’t decide
Will I know it when I get there.
I pray- hoping he will tell me something
Then pray- waiting for the peace his love brings
Chorus
And then a light descends
Brighter than the noonday sun
The truth he sends
Showing me what should be done
His love surrounds and faith is found
And then the light showed me the way
Dear Child, I’ve been waiting and I’ve missed you
Don’t cry, This is something I have passed through
You need to walk with me , you’ll never be alone
I’ll lead, and if you follow, I will take you home.
Chorus

Dear Lord will you help me through this now
I tried but got lost along the way somehow I know you’re the only one who knows the truth
So I’ll go, Anywhere you ask me to
Chorus

*original lyrics not included in recording

This song was written after the Sandy Hook Shootings and Boston Marathon Bombing. So many people wanted to know how God could let such things happen to innocent children. When I was thinking about how to answer poeople's doublts and calm my own soul, this scripture came to my head: Isaiah 49:16:
" Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me."
I realized that noone was more innocent that Jesus Christ and He suffered everything we will. It reminded me of another favorite Scripture- Alma 7:11-12:

"And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.

And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities."
There is nothing He doesn't understand, and His sacrifice literally is a balm to our pain.

Graven in His Hands
I heard the news this morning
As tears swelled in my eyes
Could someone be someone be so cruel
Why did children have to die
Why weren’t you there to stop it
You could have stayed his hand
Why do they have to suffer, Lord
I do not understand
Reaching up to heaven pleading for some light
Something deep inside m tells me it’s alright
Everyone has sorrow
Everyone has rain
I suffered in the garden
To take away the pain
When you’re feeling heartache
Know someone understands
Your walls are there before me
You are graven on my hands
Then the weight was lifted I felt peaceful once again
Thankful for a God in heaven and for his wondrous plan
There are things that happen that make me want to doubt
But trusting him through good and bad
is what life’s all about
CHORUS
I know their names I’ve
felt all of their pain
I bled from every pore
I’ve been through everything and more
I stand knocking at the door
Open it and I will pull you through.
Chorus

Tomorrow
"Annie" was my first favorite movie, and "Tomorrow" was my first favorite song". I always related to Annie's optimistic attitude through her difficult circumstances. I introduced the movie to my 4 year old Daughter, and she loved it too. She loved it SOOO much, that I found myself singing the song "Tomorrow" to her almost non-stop. Her favorite time to hear the song was in public bathrooms while she was trying to do her business and she insisted that she needed to hear the song to "go". Well, eventually we started to sing the song a little different, and in a Target bathroom stall, this classic Optimist's Anthem became a Reggae/ Jazz tune that has all the sunshine "Annie" was talking about!

Tomorrow
The sun will come out- Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow
There'll be sun
Just thinking about Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow
Til there's none

When I'm stuck with a day that's grey and lonely
I just stick out my chin and Grin and say

The sun will come out Tomorrow
So you gotta hang on til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow, Tomorrow
I love ya tomorrow
You're only a day away

How Great Thou Art

To those who have embedded their faith into my soul and helped me know my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.
This song is a favorite for many people who are special to me. I thank them for encouraging me, and supporting me and sacrificing for me! I love you!

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think of God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
