ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Kurt Kuenne is an award-winning filmmaker and composer of both fiction and documentary films. His films as writer/director/composer include the Frank Capra Award-winning film "Shuffle" (2011); the acclaimed documentary "Dear Zachary" (2008, Nominee - Best Documentary Score, International Film Music Critics); the musical short films "Rent-A-Person", "Validation", "Slow" and "The Phone Book"; the PBS documentary "Drive-In Movie Memories"; and the award-winning teen drama "Scrapbook". His work as composer only includes the award-winning score for "The Blacklist" creator Jon Bokenkamp's first feature "Preston Tylk" and re-scoring the 1925 silent classic "Cyrano de Bergerac"; this score was premiered by the San Diego Symphony and called "one of the most lush, romantic and exceptional pieces of music ever composed for a silent film" (DVDFile.com, 2000).

Praise for "Shuffle":

"Kuenne lenses the film beautifully, his images matching perfectly with his at times elegant and at times haunting original score." - The Independent Critic

"Every emotional sensation you could possibly encounter runs through your body as you take it in...perfectly captures on film so much genuine emotion it's almost overwhelming..." - Examiner.com

"Director/composer Kurt Kuenne pulls off one of those rare movies that is greater than its parts, a near perfect orchestration. Kuenne's film develops a style all of its own, complemented by his musical score and cinematography, that will keep audiences engaged - and returning to 'Shuffle' year after year." - Off to the Films

"'Shuffle' is a movie to be EXPERIENCED, not told about, and Kuenne's efforts in developing the characters throughout the film is some of the best work I've experienced, with careful attention to detail, and assisted by some excellent performances." - Geeks of Doom

"Kuenne, cast and crew give us a film that touches our heart and soul and makes us better for it while having us reflect on our own lives...there is not one false note in this film." - Trailer Park

Winner of 11 awards including the 2013 Frank Capra Award
