Album Notes
Hallowed displays a wide range of music. Recorded in a power-duo style, the songs feature Kyle on vocals and guitar with live drums and various other instruments tastefully sprinkled to add sonic spice. Beginning with a slightly country song, to alternative acoustic rock, to traditional blues, Hallowed's variety keeps you interested and has something for everyone. The songs often have a storytelling angle with catchy choruses that may cause you to sing along.

"Good at Something" tells about optimism and wanting to make your life from your dreams. "Everything" has layers of meaning as the song describes the feeling of someone being everything to them. "Those Three Words" grabs a calypso feel and paints a superstitious picture of the tension you feel when saying "those three words." "I Would Meet You" tells the true story of how Kyle met his wife and the title becomes another way to say "I love you." "I Saw You There" is another true song about how random kindness can mean a lot at the end of the day. "Ghost Of Chance" plays with cliches and metaphors and has one of Kyle's favorite lines, "Here's the moment when I look into your eyes for an angel or a devil looked up inside." "Dream Song" is a true song that comes from a person who said they wanted a song written about them. "I Ain't Special" is Kyle's personal theme song stringing hints of various musical influences and letting you know how he sees himself. "Only Thaw For You" captures the feeling of having your feelings wrapped up in one person. "Microphone Hiss" uses recording as a metaphor for moving on from a relationship. "Thinking Of The World" has a funky vibe and takes you through a story that ends with finding hope in tomorrow. "What Tomorrow Gonna Give" follows a traditional blues sound and talks about what can you do if you're always thinking about what's going to come at you.

Hallowed is Kyle's first album where he handles all the vocals. These songs have been put to the test at various open mics around greater St. Louis and at Henry House concerts outside St. Louis where Kyle is a frequent opener.
