Album Notes
The L.A. Choral Lab was formed in early 2014 by a group of musicians who know the magic that happens when voices sing in harmony, and who had a desire to share this magic with others. The ensemble, an SATB chamber choir consisting of 28 singers, performs two major concert productions per year in and around Los Angeles.

The L.A. Choral Lab's central mission is to perform and promote new choral music. "Good new choral music," adds L.A. Choral Lab founder and artistic director Michael Alfera. "The choral music world is alive with brilliant composers writing beautiful works, and our mission is to give those works a voice." Most of the music you'll hear at an L.A. Choral Lab concert was written in the past thirty years.

The ensemble’s exploration of nontraditional concert spaces recently led it to produce a warehouse choral experience complete with food trucks and DJs, as well as a choral-theatrical production featuring Shakespearian actors in a stage-play setting.

"Natural showmanship and sincere enthusiasm make obsolete the gimmicks other new groups tend to cling to. This ensemble is just really good, and they let music and skill and passion speak for them." Lauri Goldenhersh, Singerpreneur
