Album Notes
La Galeria was born about 5 years ago as a duo with Jean-Paul Steenmans (vocal/guitar) and Lieve Desplenter (vocal), recently the group became a trio with Dirk Inslegers (vocal/saxophone/clarinet).

Jean-Paul and Lieve get their inspiration for their own songs mainly when travelling. In the Canary Islands of La Gomera and La Palma, for example, some lively songs were written in Spanish and English, from which their first official album "Junonia" was born, a full-CD that was released in 2016 and which they produced entirely on their own.

Last summer, Jean-Paul and Lieve were on their way from a music festival in Germany to a flamenco workshop in southern France. It was very hot in the car, the air conditioning didn't work anymore and after 12 hours of driving they were looking for a place to spend the night in the French Jura, preferably somewhere in the vicinity of water. A casual passerby showed them the way to Port-Lesney, a picturesque village on the banks of the Loue. The cool, gently flowing water of the river, a delicious meal in a local restaurant, the poetry of the evening sun ... after that hard day on the way, the lyrics for a new song flowed out of their pen as if by itself.

Next summer, on Saturday 3 August, La Galeria will give a concert in Port-Lesney itself, on the stage of L'Edgar, the hotel/restaurant where they stayed and which organises the annual "Saison Musicale" during the summer period, with live performances every weekend on their cosy terrace.
