In 1999, Kevin was invited by EMI recording artist/guitarist Jesse Cook to join his band. Touring internationally with Jesse has afforded Kevin the opportunity to tour twice with Irish superstars the Chieftains, perform in concert and on the Tonight Show with Charlotte Church, and perform in Beijing with Chinese recording artist Dadawa.

During this period of his career, Kevin also began a concentrated exploration of his own musical voice, turning his attention to composition. The result is the album "Elation", an independently produced compact disc which represents a meeting of many aspects of Kevin's experience as a guitarist. "Elation" melds flamenco rhythms, a jazz improvisational approach, and a pop melodic sensibility.

In 2005, Kevin's CD "Elation" was licensed by Somerset Entertainment, and packaged as part of a 2-disc set called "Spanish Café". Sales in Canada surpassed 10,000 units in just 4 months.

In October of 2005, Kevin completed a recording of original guitar music for Somerset Entertainment, entitled "Siesta". This album is currently distributed internationally on the Avalon label.

Kevin performs regularly in the Toronto area, both as a solo act, and supporting numerous artists including Chris McKhool (with whom he founded the gypsy-jazz-flamenco fusion band Sultans of String), Amanda Martinez, Julie Michels, Melissa Boyce, Peter Smith, and many others.

Sur cet album je trouve que Laliberté explore différents styles. Sur certaines pièces nous sentons un rhytme gitan et sur d'autres une tendance orientale mais le coté latin est toujours aussi présent. Cependant, l'album Siesta demeure mon préféré. Bravo et "keep up the good work"

Martin Springett

This is definitely Kevin Laliberte's best C D yet. This meeting of all of Kevin's musical interests is a seemless fusion of flamenco groove and melody. The guest players widen the musical horizon considerably, from Ernie Tollar's atmospheric wooden flutes to Nana Jokura's subtle string arrangement on "Into the Night", the album is full of deliciously subtle musical moments. There's plenty of percussive muscle as well from Rosendo "Chendy" Leon, especially on the title tune. Rhythm is king here !!

Hi Kevin, I don't know if you remember me but I work at ING. I bought your two CD;s that you had out, since you no longer work at ING I go through the internet to check on your itinerary and any new music you have. I love your new CD. It is great music. Some of the guys in work are waiting to listen to it. I keep on telling them when I am finished then they can have a turn. Keep up the good work. When you perform at Princess Margaret Nov. 5/09 there will be a group of us from the office there. I have already marked it on my calendar.
Take care
