ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Lance Reegan-Diehl Band - From Canada. The first recording in 1999 in South Korea. This recording show cased the guitarists ability to improvise and produce stunning musical innovations on the spot. The tracks on this record are made from two sessions. The acoustic tracks were recorded live on SBS radio broadcast, there were no second takes for these acoustic tracks. The electric tracks were recorded at Too Blue Studio in Seoul, Korea. Each song had been recorded with two takes. Take two was selected for the electric tracks. So What and Maiden Voyage. Don't give it up - was recorded in one live take. The original 1999 'Frenzy' recording was also recorded in just one take, released on ‘Chasing My Reflection’ 2009

DEELEEBOB Music Studio Seoul, Korea - Re-Recording and re-mastering/mixing. www.deeleebob.com

Frenzy – Re-recorded for 2019 with Karl Auger on drums and David Dauberman on bass. This recorded version is based on what directions the song has taken over the years in Korea, with the latest, and what the ‘real’ L.R.D. Band is.
A blues track from the SBS recordings on the MM1999 release was omitted as this track appears on the release “Chasing my Reflection” as well. Instead the SBS live radio recording of “All Along The Watchtower” – written by Bob Dylan, has been included. The master was from a cassette, as SBS would not release masters of the recording.

‘So what’ was recorded with a few different takes and it had electric versions and acoustic versions. Take 2 was on the original commercial release and it appeared on ‘Chasing My Reflection’. In this digital MM1999 release Take 1 of ‘So What’ – electric version is included here.

Blue Bossa – The Monk Much album was sent into CBC radio 2001, where ‘Blue Bossa’ found a spot on the jazz charts sitting around the 3rd and 6th spot on a regular playlist for several years. 2002 Lance performed on the hit single in Korea ‘My Sweetie’ by BOA Kwon. Monk Much album is also listed in the Canadian Library of Archives for recordings by Canadian artists. As are all of LRD recordings from 1991 until present.

Goodtimes were had in 1999 making the recording and how well it came together, at Too Bue Studio nearby the Seoul Jazz Academy. The musicians on the original recordings have all gone on to their separate things, and the best of luck is always wished for them. In 1999 this was the ‘L.R.D. Band’ incarnation of the time. Not dis-similar to the many LRD Band lineups in the 1990’s. Liner notes and additional graphics are located on the LRD Music website. Liner note link provided bellow.
