Album Notes
A few words about each tune:

1. Sideswiped - I wrote this medium-uptempo tune thinking about Cannonball Adderley and Lee Morgan.

2. Bossa Barb - I wrote this one for those gorgeous women that you dream about.

3. Enjoy the Ride - It's all in the title. Breakneck this one is!

4. Seventh Dimension - I've always been a fan of Astrophysics. This tune was originally in 3 and called "Third Dimension." When I decided to record it in 7 with steel string guitars, the name changed.

5. The Second She Leaves - I'm going to sit down and write me a book…….next time! This time it was a ballad. Harvie bows some shit on this tune. LMAO!

6. On the Sly - Again this was another tune that morphed. It was originally "On the Fly" and in 4/4. Now it's become "On the Sly" and in 7/8.

7. Blink of an Eye - This beast in 3 was originally called "(Name-Withheld)'s Twisted" but that title is too explicit!! Another description of a short-lived relationship had to be used.

8. 3 Hours Late - This ballad was written while waiting for a lady. At least she showed up and I had a tune at the end of the wait.

9. Roll the Dice - That's my reference to online dating. You never know what you might get.

10. Story Inside my Own Head - This one is "Countdown" changes in 5/4 with a new melody and an extra 4 bar pedal at the end of the form. This one refers to our "Mind's Movie" that we participate in on a daily basis.

11. Dreamwheel - I wrote this one while overlooking a gorgeous ski slope in Steamboat Springs, Co. I thought it worked well with two nylon string guitars.

12. Wolf's Den - This one is a reharmonization of 2 choruses of a blues. These changes are risky to navigate. It also used to be the a name of a good friend's club in Steamboat Springs, Co.

13. Hmm - This one started out as a fast tune in 3/4 and shape-shifted into an unaccompanied solo ballad with fingers. "Hmm" refers to the sound of the exhail of an "Om" breath.

14. East of the Sun - This tune is the only standard on the date. It was done at a medium-tempo with brushes. Steve is a brushes master!!

Enjoy the Music!!!
