Album Notes
The Texas Fiddle Album - Played by Larry Franklin, Ray Franklin, Royse Franklin and Steve Williams. Texans are proud of their state and heritage. We are just as proud of our musical heritage and the Franklin family has deep roots in Texas style fiddling. Ray and Royce's father and Larry's great uncle, Major Franklin, was one of the greatest and most influential fiddlers the genre has ever known. Larry's father and Ray and Royce's cousin, Louis Franklin, was just as unique and influential. In the mid 1960's major, Louis and fiddler norman Solomon recorded the album "Texas Fiddle Favorites" for County Records. Many consider that record to be the holy grail of Texas fiddling and they won more fiddlers contests than anyone could possibly count. Steve's father, Carol Williams, was a remarkable upright bassist and a great friend of these fiddlers. So, Texas fiddling is in our blood and part of who we are. We're all proud to be members of the Texas Fiddler's Hall of Fame. We have included Ray, Royce and Steve's rhythm tracks as bonus tracks for everyone that would like to play along. Ray's guitar is on the left and Royce is on the right. Please visit my website for more info at
