Just beautiful all the way around
This a beautiful collection of songs about California how it was and is. Great to listen to while drivng, or anytime you have a chance to really listen. Its easy to listen to, nice guitar, violin and vocals. Some songs are hauntingly romantic, some beautifully reminiciant, while others are kind of toung a cheek. Just really nice

Larry Robinson delivers poetic rhyme with eloquence and great melodies
Larry Robinson is a well known performer here in the San Diego area. This album captures the passion and command of both poetry and melody for which Robinson is known. His songs are about California and the life and culture contained herein. This album is a must-have for anyone who loves lyrical modern folk. His turn of phrase and use of strong melodic lines are the earmark of a true master and thus a pleasure to listen to. His compositions are of such skill and strength that he has transcended a mere conquest of idiom and achieved a fluency.

I've been a fan of Larry since his days with the Dorados! I'm so glad that he has released a solo album, and I wish him the very best. Great songs!!

Sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy
Put the CD on the stereo, grab a glass of wine (or bourbon or whatever) light up a good gigar, put your feet up, close your eyes and relax to some of the best tunes heard in a long time. I cannot listen to this while driving. (there are other L.R. CD's for that) This CD is for the lazy nights by the fireplace cuddled next to momma. Great songs sung by a great voice in a very simple acoustic setting that is a joy to listen to.

A Must-Own
Larry Robinson’s voice is one of the finest examples of a singer/songwriter bringing the listener close to the artist. Both his voice and lyrics are so melded from the same personality that I can’t help but compare these qualities to musicians like Arlo Guthrie or Bob Dylan. Larry is vivid and colorful as he sings of country life in California. – But, no doubt, most of us folks in America can relate. Folk-like imagery with intriguing lines and rhyme. A marvelous integrity of verisimilitude and ear.

word pictures
This cd led me so well in word pictures that a couple of times the images come before the new words.
