Album Notes
Broadway's Laura Bell Bundy is joined by the Bluegrass Area Jazz Association (BAJA) based in Lexington, Kentucky, and her grandfather, Wayne Bell, for a recording of Christmas favorites. The CD is a fundraising project for BAJA and Kreative Kids Foundation, Laura's not for profit organization, which provides scholarships and educational programs in the performing arts to less fortunate children, schools and communities.

A Great CD for A Great Cause
I strongly encourage everyone to buy this cd...not only does Laura Bell Bundy beautifully sing all of my favorite christmas standards, but she also is raising money for a wonderful cause. What a great idea, this cd is truly a Christmas masterpiece, and an excellent addition to the season of giving!

Excellent Big Band/Jazz - Excellent Singing
Laura Bell Bundy may be known more as a country singer if I'm not mistaken, but on this christmas cd, she sounds exactly like a singer of jazz/big band music from way back in the day (1930's-1950's). She is just so talented, to be able to sing different music styles and sound like each style is all your own.

And the backing music, performed by a jazz/big band so you get a lot of the brass sounds that were common so many decades ago, is just fantastic.

Every song sounds great so no need to mention any by name as highlights. Therefore, whether it be SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN or LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!, it's all great.

There is some narrating of the song TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS which is broken down into small little segments of the song and pieces of the song are narrated after a couple of songs (the flow is like this throughout the cd - a couple of songs, then a bit of the narration).

If you like the big band/jazz sound with lead female vocals that sound like the female singers of so many decades ago, then go for this (try the sound samples to really see how nice this is). It's awesome and highly recommended by me.
