Bullet

Woke up this mornin' with a bullet in my head
Don't know what happened but it sure feels like I'm dead
The bags are empty and the money's all gone
It's time to turn my whole life around,

And Ohhhh, it's time to open my eyes
I can breath now
Ohhhh, it's time to rise
I am here now

The stories changin' and the books are all read
It's time to see if my spirit has been fed
I am a ripple in the ocean of life
What I see around me is what's inside of me

And Ohhhh, it's time to open my eyes
I can breath now
Ohhhh, it's time to rise
I am here now

Woke up this mornin' with the sunshine
Picked up my guitar and counted to nine
Stretch out in the grass and exercise
What a beautiful day to be alive! :

3. One: guitar, vocals & backup vocals - LJ; drums - John; hand drum - Rose (during verses) & LJ (during chorus); violin - Fran; didjeridoo - Steve; bass - Derek Lyrics by: LJ & Second verse by Chris Flynn A.K.A. Unk

One

We are all together yet we separate ourselves, from each other and the earth
We need to unite we need to congregate ourselves and be the One that we are
We are all different and the same as everyone
We are all people of this world
Love your neighbor, be kind to everyone, and please respect our Mother

Now's the time to make some changes
It's time to look inside
Look at what we believe in, what the books've been sayin' through time
The Bible the Koran the Bhagavad-Gita, so many places to go,
So many people to turn too so many things yet to know
But people are people no matter where you go, who you talk to or what you know
So why don't we all come together and reap what we sow?

Today's the day we set the break and tomorrow cut the cast
Together we can save the future reminisce about the past
Listen now and teach your children how to sing and how to laugh
Lead the old from the coldness and into the sun at last

Now's the time to make some changes
It's time to look inside
Look at what we believe in, what the books've been sayin' through time
The Bible the Koran the Bhagavad-Gita, so many places to go,
So many people to turn to so many things yet to know
But people are people no matter where you go, who you talk to or what you know
So why don't we all come together and reap what we sow?

We are all together yet we separate ourselves, from each other and the earth
We need to unite we need to congregate ourselves and be the One….

4. Rainbows: guitar, vocals & djembe - LJ; flute - Karen; backup vocals - Michele, ukulele - Stuart; drum jam - LJ & Derek; Lyrics by: LJ and Albert Brown greensunhealing@yahoo.com

Rainbows

Please won't you let me take you down this street, and show you how I feel
Won't you let me take you down this street
I see rainbows through gray skies
I see rainbows when I laugh and when I cry

Come fly with me we'll dance all day long
Come fly with me we'll sing circle songs
Come fly with me we'll fall in love with everyone
Everything is here for us now

Please won't you see your true heart?
Each one of us has a true and holy heart
Every precious moment slips joyfully away
Now we have each other, come on lets play, come on let's play!

Come fly with me we'll dance all day long
Come fly with me we'll sing circle songs
Come fly with me we'll fall in love with everyone
Everything is here for us now

All of life is sacred, cherish all sacred life
In the end nothing matters
Let it all fall away
Come fly with me
Come fly with me
I know you can see
Rainbows!
Rainbows!
I see rainbows in you!

5. Internet Boyfriend: electric guitar & vocals - LJ; bass & lead guitar - Derek; drums - John

Internet Boyfriend
Dedicated to Joseph Fleming

World's apart, oceans long, we are writing the same song
My heart beats, you breath in, lets start all over again
I hear your voice in my dreams, feel you near me
Close my eyes, concentrate, I can almost touch your face

My internet boyfriend in Japan I love him
My internet boyfriend in Japan I love him
My internet boyfriend in Japan I love him
My internet boyfriend in Japan I love him

Christmas time, coming soon, perfect time to see you
That will be your gift to me, our spirits dancing in harmony
I'll hold your hand, touch your skin, feel your heart beating
Look into my eyes, tell me what they're saying

I want to be with you
You are my dreams come true
Let's live our lives together buy some land and plant a garden
I want to be with you
You are my dreams come true
Let's live our lives together buy some land and plant a garden

Time has come for us to see, if we will be married
Someday this lifetime reuniting divine
Stars above earth below tell all the secrets you know
Guide us with wisdom we are your children

I want to be with you
You are my dreams come true
Lets live our lives together buy some land and plant a garden
My internet boyfriend in Japan I love him x 4 (counterpart)
I want to be with you
You are my dreams come true
Lets live our lives together buy some land and plant a garden,
plant a garden, plant a garden… Yeah.

7. Shades of Blue: guitar & vocals - LJ; lead guitar - Stuart; flute - Karen; drums - John, bass - Derek, backup vocals - Michele & LJ
Dedicated to and inspired by: Robert James Smith a.k.a. Casper

Shades of Blue

Sky exploding all around
Air ripping through my flesh, in shades of blue
Feel the pressure closing in
At least I got it off my chest, in shades of blue

Deep midnight moonlit water
Dragon sitting peaceful in the sky
Fire of the night is burning
I can see it clearly in her eyes

Loudly crash the fallen leaves
Silent trees bring war and peace, in shades of blue
Smoke filled city in New York
People coming together more, in shades of blue

Deep midnight moonlit water
Dragon sitting peaceful in the sky
Fire of the night is burning
I can see it clearly in your eyes

Colors fly and people scream
Leaves blow in the summer breeze
Hey ya hey ya
Paint chips and grass stains
Bare feet in the cold cold rain
Hey ya hey ya
Ohhhha
Ohhhha

Namaste Ohm Shanti
God gives us everything we need, in shades of blue
Life gives you what you dish out
Ask yourself what you really want, in shades of blue

Deep midnight moonlit water
Dragon sitting peaceful in the sky
Fire of the night is burning
I can see it clearly in my eyes, your eyes, our eyes
Shades of blue

8. Rain: vocals - LJ, Michele & Michael S.; snaps & bass drum - LJ; rain stick - Stuart Lyrics by: LJ & Aaron Piepszny www.myspace.com/piepszny

Rain

Rain rain, running down the rocky road like a new-formed stream
Oh rain rain, dripping down so gently from the leaves of the trees
Oh rain rain, tapping down on the rooftop making music with the breeze
Oh rain rain, rain

Immaculate conception between water and cloud
Being born of earth again, soaking into ground
Cycling round and round earth to sky to sun
Creation of plantation providing food for everyone

Rain rain, running down the rocky road like a new-formed stream
Oh rain rain, dripping down so gently from the leaves of the trees
Oh rain rain, tapping down on the rooftop making music with the breeze
Oh rain rain, rain

Ocean blood rain cloud fire and sun
Rebirth of water nourishing God's children
All things together creates One
Thank you creator for helping my share your song

My voice is thunder
Lightning's in my brain
My blood is water, flowing through my veins

My voice is thunder
Lightning's in my brain
My blood is water, flowing through my veins

My voice is thunder
Lightning's in my brain
My blood is water, flowing through my veins
Flowing through my veins
Flowing through my veins

9. Choice: spoken word & keyboard - LJ; drums & broken glass sample - Derek; didjeridoo, overtone flutes, gopichand, rain stick & Tibetan chimes - Stuart

Choice

Music is in me
My spirit is shining
My body is warm
My thoughts are dying
I can hear the sound, the space between the noise, the echo of the void

The rhythm of the footsteps as they bend the blades of grass
The voice of the birds through cracks of pavement shards of glass
Methodical winds of change ring true between my ears
Listen closely to your mind and you might be able to hear
Your life as your thoughts spill it out for you
Your dreams in your head and stuck between your toes
and the fine white powder you were snorting up your nose
it's everywhere you look
everything inside
all around you and about you it starts behind your eyes
it's all a puzzle waiting to be attached one piece at a time
two heads on a dime
four white children running through the woods getting chased by some scary man because they thought they would
be careful what you think because that is what you have
in your life in your fridge in your pocketbook
it's all in your head, just take a closer look
stories come and go and with the change of seasons we have our patterns our excuses
and a few used up reasons
let's step out of our tracks, pay attention to the cycles
stop the spinning in circles and pay attention to the cycles
learn the lessons love the pain then move on to the next game
take a chance open your eyes and stop sleepwalking into surprise
take your power back
walk a different path
let your Spirit thrive
have faith in your power
learn to walk on water and let your Spirit thrive
Heal your body
Change your mind
and Live
on Purpose

10. Love Moves: guitar & vocals - LJ; backup vocals - Michele; ukulele - Stuart; flute - Karen; djembe - Rose Lyrics by: Aaron Piepszny & LJ

Love Moves

Jade grass grows, seasons blowing
Oh how lovely the hummingbird sings
We sow sweetly, seeds of memory
Good times of yesterday happiness brings

Days by sand
Blood rains history mystery, patient symphony by the sea
Perfect space
Embrace silence in sound
Faces smile
Life's about now

Joyous rivers, proving beats pulse soothing
Light bodies breath
Become endless truth
We wave creations, ocean age
Stay change stay, stay change stay
Days by sand
Blood rains history mystery, patient symphony by the sea
Perfect space
Embrace silence in sound
Faces smile
Life's about now

We be the beauty, this bridges infinite shores
Ever more, love moves
We be the beauty, this bridges infinite shores
Ever more, love moves
We be the beauty, this bridges infinite shores
Ever more, love moves
We be the beauty, this bridges infinite shores
Ever more, love moves

12. Smile: guitar & vocals - LJ; backup vocals - Michael S., drums & pandeiro - John; sax - Steve; trombone - Michael H.; upright bass - Greg

Smile

Walkin down the street, hands in pockets
Walkin down the street, face to the ground
Walkin down the street, hands in pockets
Walkin down the street, face to the ground

The rain came down
Washin over me
The rain came down and woke me up, yeah
The rain came down
Washin over me
The rain came down and woke me up

And suddenly I saw the sun
Suddenly I smile at everyone
Suddenly I saw the sun
Suddenly I smile at everyone

When I'm hangin around, feelin stuck in my head
Eventually I realize I took what I was fed
The challenge of life is that most people don't see
Our lives are the way we want them to be
If you don't like the movie you're playin in your head
You've got to choose differently
I turn down the volume so I can hear what Spirit's been tryin to tell me

And suddenly I saw the sun
Suddenly I smile at everyone
Suddenly I saw the sun
Suddenly I smile at everyone

Thank You…

I'd like to extend my humblest gratitude to the Creator, whose omniscience includes All my relations - All things seen and unseen.

I give thanks for this body, mind and spirit, which have allowed me to create music with the help of my friends.

Thanks SO much to Derek Prellwitz for making this project possible, for doing such an excellent job on the many parts he played during this project: studio engineer, co-producer, guitar teacher, friend, mentor, critic & musician. Thanks for being patient with me, and for making me work so hard.

Thanks to Aaron Piepszny, Albert Brown, and Chris Flynn A.K.A. "Unk", for writing lyrics on Love Moves, Rain, Rainbows, and One. You all gave me exactly what I needed to make these songs and this album complete. Thank you for adding your energy to my music.

I can't even begin to express how happy and grateful I am for all the musicians that played on this album. The process of putting this CD together has been a dream come true for me. From the instruments that were played, to the people that were playing them, my prayers were answered. I feel not only blessed, but honored that you all would want to be part of this project with me. The reality of it forces me to see that the music I've created IS worthy of recording if it's reflected by some of the greatest musicians in Buffalo. From the bottom of my heart, with tears in my eyes, my thanks go out to you.

Thanks to all my family and friends for being a great support, especially to my mom who I've realized over the years has been my best friend and who will always play a key role in my life.

Thanks so much to all the communities and cooperatives I am part of, especially: Ehk-wheh-heh-weh, Sanctuary, Circle, Buffalo Wellness Co-op, Nickel City Co-op, & Lexington Food Co-op.

Thanks to my teacher and friend, Tahwehdahqui, and to his family.

Thanks to Tony Caferro at DeepThinka Records for helping me with the design aspect of the album, as well as mentoring me through this process. Thanks so much for all your time and energy.

Thanks so much to my closest friends who have become part of my family. I thought about listing some of you, but don't want to leave anyone out and the truth is there are too many to list. You all have made my life so rich, especially all the children. Thank you so much for sharing your life with me.

To all the people that have touched my life, I owe a great amount of my happiness, healing and "waking up" to you. My life is full because of you and because of my ever growing relationship with Spirit. Thank you for being such beautiful reflections of me. I have come to know that everything reflects who I am on the inside. For this truth, and for my reflections, I am thankful.

Thanks for reading this. Blessings to All my Relations.

Currently: (off of www.laurajeanc.com site...)
(to date : April 2007) Wow, this is a very exciting time for me... Just moved, again, to the 438 Massachusetts Ave. (Buffalo, NY 14213) house with my friends the Buckley's (Nate, John and Lara). We have community dinners here every Tuesday night @ 7pm for $3 (usually vegan or vegan options).
In March 2007 I released my first full length CD called: Laura Jean with special guest artists, "Waking Up", click on the music link to read more about that. I'm in the process of forming a band with people that are excited about creating music that has life affirming lyrics, and melodic instrumentals. Contact me if that sounds attractive to you. There will soon be a calendar on this site of upcoming shows. For example I'm scheduled to play at Beat Fest, www.myspace.com/beatfest. along with my friend Human, who is coming out from Northern California with his crew. We'll be doing a little tour together in NY between May 31st and June 6th. www.thehumanrevolution.org.
My massage practice, as well as Life Coaching practice are in bloom. I'm so thankful for everything in my life right now, my work, the space I have to work in, The Buffalo Wellness Cooperative, my home, my friends and family. Also I'm recently reinvolved with a man from Nigeria who's been living in Washington DC for more than 7 years, King Baba James. He is an incredible African ballet performer. I'm in the process of booking a big dance & music performance featuring him along with local artists including Aaron Piepszny and Wise Mecca, for June 9th. More info TBA on that soon.
On May 19th from 2-11pm we will be having our One Year Anniversary Open House (2-6pm) and Fundraiser (7-11pm). Go to www.bwellcoop.com for more info tba. Dinner and Entertainment will be provided at the Fundraiser part of the evening.
