Chasing Down the Dream

by Laura Promiscuo

This album delivers an even mix of strong pop melodies fit for movie soundtracks with high-end production, and more intimate, soulful folk songs that emphasize the clarity and "pristine control" in Laura's voice (Charleston, Chestnut Hill Local, 2014).

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Laura Promiscuo is an up and coming singer songwriter from Philadelphia, packing venues with her powerhouse vocal range and emotionally charged pop ballads. Currently Laura is promoting her debut album, Chasing Down the Dream with Grammy winning producer, Tim Sonnefeld and Milkboy Records.

Chasing Down The Dream features eight of Laura's original songs, influenced by her classical training in opera and string orchestra, as well as her admiration for soul and folk music. There are undoubtedly elements of these styles in several of her tunes, including "Closer To You,” "Water Is Wide” and “Take Me As I Am.” Her most intimate song, “Sweet Lovin Boy” is a stripped down performance of her raw, classic vocals and a freestyle piano accompaniment.

Laura trained with internationally known artists including tenor, Richard Kennedy, and Arlene Shrut, head vocal coach at The Julliard School. In the past several years she has performed at many local venues, as well as more notable venues including The World Cafe Live, The Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia, the Bryce Jordan Center at Penn State University, and The Bitter End in New York City.
