Album Notes
Snowflakes is the long awaited return of Lauren Bocci to the recording world. This 5-song EP with a bonus spoken word track, from Lauren’s six year old daughter, is sure to make your spirits bright throughout the Holiday season.

The album begins with an airy chorus of “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” that grows into a renewed version of the song originally written in mid-19th century. From there we hear a satisfying mix of moments true to Lauren’s country roots but with an overall recreation and contemplative maturity of her sound overall. She hits the high notes you’d expect from her in “O Holy Night”, but also softens her sound for a laid back style of the definitive “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. In Jingle Bells, we hear from Lauren’s sister, Hannah Wiens, in a bluegrass inspired version of the song made popular in the 1940’s by another set of talented sisters. The album ends with a stunningly instrumented and worshipful “Silent Night”, where great care is made to pay homage to the classic song while conveying her own take on its phrasing and musicality.

Perhaps the most significant aspect of this record is the effect and overall reach it will have. Lauren has pledged to give back a percentage of each download to several charitable organizations that impact the world over. Therefore, it’s expected that the benefits of this record will surpass that of mere auditory delight, but will extend far deeper into communities, both near and far.

Overall, Snowflakes is a tremendous record that will bring a smile to those that know Lauren’s music already, and to those experiencing it for the first time. At the sound of the first note it will surely be difficult to resist the urge to mix this 5-song EP with snow and hot cocoa!
