Album Notes
Lauren Bruce's music is brutally honest. She is a woman that holds no fear in exposing her vulnerability or tenderness. This courage shines through her lyrics and performances and is ultimately what makes her debut album, Before The Dust Settles, such a triumph.

Raised in Nambucca Heads on the east coast of Australia, Lauren embraced songwriting at a young age, inspired by nightly kitchen table jam sessions with her father, leading to sneaking into local pubs, years under-age, to steal the stage during his set-breaks.

After winning the prestigious David Helfgott scholarship, Lauren relocated to London to further hone her craft both as writer and live-performer in 2009.

Her band, Lauren Bruce and The Believers, became regular headliners at notable venues around London including Monto Water Rats (Washington, Paul Dempsey, Rachel Yamagata) The Slaughtered Lamb and The Half Moon as a loyal following emerged.

But while its live scene embraced Lauren as a performer, London would inspire the exploration of her own depths, fuelling self-awareness that would ultimately spill over into her songwriting.
Her songs are intimate, bold and revealing – evocative without being blue, empowering without being contrived.

It was in the final weeks of her time in the UK that Lauren bunkered down in an old vacant church in the English countryside to record the songs that would become her debut album.
Fittingly, the album was mastered at London's iconic Abbey Road Studios.

Before The Dust Settles, is a stunning debut that culminates a defining chapter - woven through it, a genuine hope and optimism that openly celebrates a woman's coming of age.
