Laurent Leemans & the Imaginary Friends Ensemble

by Laurent Leemans

The first solo album by Ceilí Moss' singer. Sounds like the illegitimate and lazy son Johnny Cash never had with Suzanne Vega...

Album Notes
Though this album is new, most of the material on it dates back to 1995 and the following years, when I was playing in La Vierge du Chancelier Rolin, or when I begun playing with Ceilí Moss. Some of these songs had been discarded by the bands (who said "and rightly so"?) or just didn't fit, or sometimes were just personal stuff I didn't want to share. The exception that confirms the rule being "Three stars", a song I wrote in 2009, after the birth of my third daughter. "Back in the house" and "The next time" were for a long time regular guests in Ceilí Moss' playlists, and "Morphine sweet" appears in another version on Ceilí Moss' album "La vie sent quoi?" from 2010.

Let's say that before I fully spread my wings as a singer and songwriter, I felt had to clean my closet from all the stuff that had been gathering dust for a long time (my God, are you sure you can't get more pompous? ;) Consider this album as a musical yard sale.
