Life in the Modern World

by Lauren White

This Jazz Singer's new CD is definitely a wonderful mix of wonderfully re-arranged standards like "Midnight Sun" and "How Little We Know" to New Standards by such writers as Ivan Lins, Mark Winkler, Michael Franks and Ella Fitzerald.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Lauren White's CD is full of original song choices -- Ivan Lins, Michael Franks, Mark Winkler and even Ella Fitzerald. She is backed by an all star crew of LA's finest musicians including Grant Geissman on Guitar, Kevin Axt on bass and Quinn Johnson (Steve Tyrell) on piano. She is joined on "Till I Get It Right" with cool singer/songwriter Mark Winkler. This is definitely a wide ranging CD going from the intimacy of such ballads as "Signing Off" and "Coffee" to the Latin Exuberance of "How Little We Know" to the Brazilliance rhythms of "Life in the Modern World" and "Midnight Sun" to the deeply felt emotionality of her take on Paul Simon's classis "American Tune."
