"Hope Sings" Terrific!
“HOPE SINGS” reflects Laurie Hope’s range of songwriting from witty and charmingly irreverent to deeply
moving lyrics. Her variety in melody and arrangement keeps the listener engaged as each song casts its unique mood and impact. She treats us with many of Ojai’s finest musicians who play on this album. This is the first of her several fine CD’s in which all the lead vocals are sung by Laurie. Her low and pleasing timbre gives us an intimate connection with her songs.

Best Yet
Laurie Hope really did it this time, combining her skills as a writer, ear as a producer, hands as a guitarist, and voice as a singer....into a beautiful collection of creations that entertain...but also reveal her musical intelligence, life wisdom, and gentle humor. I am privileged to have worked with her and ask you to consider purchasing her album. You will not regret it, and it also supports the creative art of singer/songwriting.

I don't know if I can be objective...
I'm so proud to know Laurie. Not only does she continue to amaze me with her funny and heartfelt songwriting, but her musicianship knocks me out. I think this new, this latest album will appeal to lots of people. The only thing that's missing is a huge marketing budget.

A great song collection!
Whether funny, satiric, heartfelt, or emotionally raw, Laurie's lyrics are true poetry, intelligent and neatly crafted. This is an album to be carefully listened to and appreciated. Each song is incredibly unique. I want to name one as my favorite but then...no, that one, no, that one! Try them all!

Her lovely voice serves up a collection of fun, humorous, thoughtful and heartfelt songs that put a smile on my face whenever it begins to play.

Awesome indeed!
I think of this music as "philosophical country blues". Perhaps that's a new category, but it seems to fit this special and original collection. If there's a bottom line on the philosophy here, it might be "Life's not worth livin' if you never take chances." Rimes are strong: "Time's an illusion of forward thrust - The great equalizer brings dust to dust." Lots of humor: "Rock hard abs and two PhDs - You're the only one for me." Married to the King of Jerks (who's good in bed) so she enjoys the perks. Stuff like that-there is really appealing. For sheer emotional impact on a deep level is the ballad of "Flight 447". This is a must listen. Lastly, the instrumental sounds are magic and funky, and the singing, including the yodeling, is just down right appealing.
