Dream World

I revisit and reinterpret songs I wrote over the past 40 years, but never released. The common element of the 15 tracks, which encompass a broad range of musical genres, is our relationships with partners, family, friends, colleagues, and ourselves.

Album Notes
I am a lawyer by day, who from 1998 through 2010 produced six albums of original holiday humor rock-and-roll with a legal perspective (could anything be more niche?) under the LawTunes indie label. In 2013, I climbed out from the dusty shadows of the law library and headed to the beach with "The SurfChords: Sea Sun Greetings," an album under the SurfChords label for the broad holiday audience with no hint of law or lawyers anywhere.
In 2017, as I approach my milestone 60th birthday in December, and the unavoidable accompanying introspection and retrospection, I decided to switch gears, go back to my musical roots, and revisit and reinterpret some of the non-lawyer/non-holiday/non-humor songs I have written over the past 40 years, but never released. The common element of the songs, either directly or symbolically, is relationships, with partners, family, friends, colleagues, and ourselves. In a sense, I connected with the person I was when I wrote them, adding the perspective of subsequent life experiences, and hopefully somewhat more developed musical ability. The 15-track “Dream World” is the result.
The tunes encompass a broad range of genres, including: rock, pop, and country anthems and ballads, and – this may be a first – a will in the form of a song. And like my last effort, it bears a cover watercolor by my now-86-year-old mother.
