ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The music I chose for this album has been songs that have helped my heart and local churches connect with the Lord. I picked songs that helped me revel in the gospel. I picked songs that have been a blessing to me and to people I know for the purpose of simply worshiping Jesus and also in the hope that other people could worship Jesus through this music. The acoustic guitar and vocals are all that are in this album. I wanted it to be very simple and very personal. I believe it is such an amazing experience to gather with the people of God and celebrate and praise together and fear together. I also believe it is incredibly vital that people worship individual. This album was birthed out of personal worship at home and my hope is that people would worship individually with it and then we can gather together and use these songs publicly together to connect with God as one, as his body. These are some of my favorite worship songs. There are also two songs I wrote myself on here. Trust and The Love of God. The Love of God is a song to help preach the gospel to yourself. That is why I wrote it and how I found the inspiration to write it. I needed to remind myself daily, sometimes hourly, that Jesus was my salvation and not my performance. I was bogged down by failures and guilt and not measuring up to the law of the word and the law of human standards and perfectionism. I just wasn't good enough and I could feel it. I began to learn how to rehearse the gospel daily through many authors and musicians and started feeding myself gospel passages of scripture. This song "the Love of God" came from that. It is a simple acoustic song about how Jesus is enough, he is my salvation. The song also captures how the Holy Spirit actually brings to light the meaning of the gospel and applies it to the heart. Trust is about many things. It is about trusting in Christ for salvation, for the new heaven and new earth and for what he already accomplished by coming, dying, and rising for us. It is also about believing God and following his direction and guidance. Taking his comfort. Walking with him. Trusting his guidance in the present life. I went through a very intense pruning in my life when I wrote Trust. Jesus held me and I clawed for him. I needed him and he showed up for me in huge ways and in small personal ways. He was my comforter and strength. He guided me and showed me his love every day. He still does. I hope he shows his love to people through this album.
